Fencing Installation & Repair in North London

Replacement panels, new fence runs, concrete-posted fencing and garden gates.

A good fence is invisible — it just does its job. We install fencing that stands up to the weather coming off the North Sea and the gales we get every winter.

New close-board fencing in North London

Panel Replacement

The most common fence call we get is "two of my panels blew out". We come out, check the posts (the usual reason panels go is that the post has rotted or split rather than that the panel itself failed), and replace either the panel only, the panel and the post, or recommend a wider replacement if the whole run is going.

We stock standard 6x6 and 6x5 close-board and overlap panels in pressure-treated softwood, and 6x6 concrete gravel boards for the bottom.

Concrete-Posted Fencing

Concrete posts last several times longer than timber in our climate. We dig the post holes to roughly 600mm with a powered auger, set the concrete posts on a haunched concrete base, and slot timber panels between them with concrete gravel boards underneath. The panels become the consumable item and can be swapped one-by-one in years to come without disturbing the rest of the fence.

Replacement fence panels after storm damage

Closeboard, Featheredge & Specialist Fencing

For longer perimeter runs and where neighbours want a more substantial finish, we build feather-edge close-board fencing from posts, rails and individual boards rather than pre-made panels. It is stronger, takes wind loads better, and lasts longer — but it does take longer to put up.

We also fit picket fencing, hit-and-miss decorative panels, slatted fencing and concrete-effect composite fencing. Trellis topping and slatted screening are quick add-ons.

Gates & Side-Access

Side gates to lock the side passage off, double gates to a driveway, garden access gates, and stop-and-secure latches for child safety. We hang them on heavy-duty hinges with throw-bolts on the inside and a key-locking pad-bolt where security matters.

Why North London Customers Choose Us for Fencing Installation & Repair

North London is full of trades and not all of them turn up. We hear that from new customers almost every week — someone has waited two days for a callback, taken a morning off work for a quote that never arrived, or been chased for cash on a job that was never finished properly. We built our reputation by doing the simple things consistently: answering the phone, turning up when we say we will, giving fixed prices in writing, doing the job to a tidy standard, and leaving the house cleaner than we found it.

We are not the cheapest in North London and we do not try to be — but we believe we offer the best value when you balance price, reliability and finish quality.

The Process — What to Expect When You Book

1. Enquiry. Fill in our contact form with a brief description of the work and a few photos if you can — the more we know upfront, the more accurate our quote will be. We respond within 24 hours on working days, often much sooner.

2. Site visit and quote. For most fencing installation & repair work we like to visit the property to give an accurate fixed price. The visit is free, takes 15-30 minutes and there is no obligation. For very small jobs we can quote from photographs alone.

3. Booking. Once you agree the quote we send a confirmation email and book a date. We do not take deposits for jobs under £500 — you pay on completion when you are happy with the work.

4. The work. We arrive on the agreed day in the agreed time slot. We dust-sheet floors, protect skirting and furniture, and work tidily. We keep you informed if anything changes.

5. Completion and payment. When the job is finished we walk you through it, hand over any guarantees or certificates and take payment. Card, bank transfer or cash all welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does fencing take to install?
A standard 10-metre run of panels with concrete posts takes about a day for two of us. Longer or more complex runs are quoted by the linear metre.
Do you remove the old fence?
Yes — removal and disposal is included in every quote.
Concrete posts or timber posts — which is better?
Concrete almost always. They last longer and the panels can be swapped without disturbing the line of the fence.
Will you check whose fence it is before working on it?
We always recommend you confirm ownership with your title deeds first. The convention in this area is the left-hand fence as you look from inside, but it is not a rule.
